Rangers announce TEG as new tour partner with international matches in pipeline

Rangers have announced a new partnership with TEG; a "leading international match tour organiser and global entertainment giant".

The new partnership will see Rangers participate in TEG's international match tournaments in the summers of 2024 through 2026 - where Rangers do not have official FIFA or UEFA tournament duties.

Schedules and locations for international tournaments are yet to be confirmed but North America, the Middle East and Far East Asia have been earmarked as potential destinations.

The collaboration will also see the club work with TEG on several commercial ventures including live music and entertainment.

TEG Sport had been involved in the Sydney Super Cup which Rangers pulled out in 2022.

Legal action between TEG and Rangers has now ceased after the new agreement. The organisers had been seeking damages over the Sydney Super Cup saga.

A statement on the Rangers website reads: "The Rangers first team will compete against the world's leading clubs, allowing the club to directly engage with its famous worldwide support and underpin its long-term international strategy to grow its presence and commercial revenues in new international territories.

"The schedule and locations will be finalised in the coming months, with North America, the Middle East and Far East Asia, amongst others, earmarked as potential destinations for future Rangers international summer tours.

"TEG Sport, owned by TEG, enjoys a world-renowned reputation for hosting international tournaments, including organising matches with Real Madrid, Manchester United, Chelsea, Liverpool, Inter Milan, and Bayern Munich in locations such as Australia, Singapore, Thailand, the USA and the UK."

Incoming Rangers chief executive James Bisgrove said of the partnership: "We're delighted to team up with TEG and form this innovative commercial partnership that propels our international strategy into a new dimension.

"The collaboration will enable the Rangers’ first team to tour international markets, such as North America, Far East Asia and the Middle East, in the years ahead.

"Rangers Football Club is incredibly fortunate to have the most passionate and diverse supporter base in world football, and we are excited to bring our men's first team to key international markets with the strong support of TEG as our partner."

TEG Group CEO Geoff Jones commented: “We are pleased to have a touring partnership with Rangers Football Club.

“This partnership ends the previous dispute between Rangers and TEG, as both organisations look forward to a collaborative and mutually beneficial commercial relationship in the years ahead.

“This year alone our TEG Sport division will tour some of the biggest football clubs across eight countries in both the northern and southern hemispheres. We look forward to continuing to expand our international football touring with Rangers.”
