Rangers announce funeral plans for late hero after passing confirmed

Rangers have confirmed the funeral details for Graham Fyfe after his passing.

It was announced by the Ibrox club last week that their former player had died at the age of 70.

Hailing from Motherwell, the midfielder made 89 appearances for the Light Blues and formed part of their 1972 UEFA Cup Winners' Cup-winning squad.

In total he scored 31 times for Rangers over seven years before exiting the current Premiership champions in 1976.

His former club have now confirmed that his funeral will take place in Holytown next week.

They said in a statement: "Rangers can confirm Graham Fyfe’s funeral will take place at 10:15am on Tuesday 3rd May at Holytown Crematorium, then afterwards to The Tudor Hotel."

Fyfe also enjoyed stints at Dumbarton and Hibs before moving to the Major Indoor Soccer League in America.

A section of the Rangers support remembered him with a banner during their 3-1 win away at Motherwell on Saturday.
