Hamilton Women’s head coach Gary Doctor says a 6-0 scoreline flattered SWPL 1 champions Glasgow City after another tough afternoon for Accies.
Coming into the Scottish Women’s Cup fourth round tie, Rangers handed a 4-0 league defeat to Doctor’s side and another bruising scoreline was inflicted upon them on Sunday.
They are bottom of SWPL 1 but have a weekend off this week due to some of scheduled opponents Hibs’ players being involved on international duty.
Doctor says that while the final scores may tell one story, he’s witnessed enough from his team to know it isn’t the full picture.
He said: “We faced two of the best teams in the league this week but we acquitted ourselves fairly well.
“You can see the gulf in quality when you look at some of the goals.
“We have come out of the games, as strange as it sounds, in a better frame of mind. The players know the quality they are up against.
“Rangers and Glasgow City are packed with internationals and they have recovery time, which we can’t hide away from either.
“The players did well and I know the scoreline doesn’t show it. We caused Glasgow City problems. The City game, the scoreline flatters them.”
