Rangers and Celtic learn Champions League schedules with all eyes on Real Madrid and Liverpool ties

Celtic and Rangers have discovered the all important Champions League fixture schedules they face.

The Old Firm duo learned their group stage fate earlier this evening with some huge ties to look forward to for both the players and supporters. Ange Postecoglou and his Hoops welcome holders and European powerhouse Real Madrid to Parkhead while Rangers will come up against Liverpool in a Battle of Britain clash as part of their section.

The Scottish champions also face RB Leipzig and Shakhtar Donetsk alongside the European champions while Giovanni van Bronckhorst and Co face a familiar face in Calvin Bassey and Ajax as well as Napoli. Former Rangers man Bassey only left the club in the summer for a big-money transfer to the Netherlands and he is set for a quick-fire return to Ibrox. The Glasgow rivals will hear the famous anthem ring out in less than two weeks' time with the first match dates scheduled for September 6 and 7.
