Barry Ferguson reckons the time has come for Rangers and Alfredo Morelos to part ways.
The Colombian hitman is out of contract in the summer and has so far failed to come to an agreement on fresh terms to extend his stay in Glasgow. The striker has been one of the best performers at the club over the years and boasts a healthy scoring record both domestically and in European competition during his time at the club.
However, this season he has had his off-field issues with Giovanni van Bronckhorst banishing him from his travelling team for the Champions League play-off at PSV while he's had to play second fiddle mostly to summer signing Antonio Colak. He was in from the start against St Mirren this weekend with Ferguson insisting his touch was way off, there was no work ethic and overall he was expecting much, much more from the striker.

Morelos can pen a pre-contract in January with any interested club. Rangers hero Ferguson believes now is the time for the 26-year-old to depart, although concedes on current form he is not sure if there will be much interest in his services.
Ferguson told Go Radio : "I've always been a supporter of Morelos and I still think he's a good striker.
"Now, you can go on about 'he's not played enough football', but he still needs to show a bit.
"His touch was away off, he was misplacing passes and I just didn't think there was a work ethic there within him.
"On Saturday, I was expecting a much better performance. During the week against Hearts when he came on, I thought he actually did really well and I'm thinking 'right he's back again'. But watching that on Saturday, he was really poor."
He added: "If he's trying to get a move, if there are clubs there watching him play, I just think he looked a way off it.
"I just think the best thing for both Rangers and Morelos is they part ways.
"Whether someone will come in for him in January I don't know. Whether he'll want to stay until the summer and go on a totally free transfer, we just need to wait and see."
