Rangers ahead of Celtic in transfer valuation chart as Ibrox star named SPFL's most valuable player

New statistics have claimed that Rangers hold six of the most valuable players in Scotland's pricey XI - with Celtic one short of their total on five.

Respected stats website transfermarkt have updated their player valuations and have released a combined XI of the most valuable players from Scotland's Premiership. It's no surprise Celtic and Rangers make up the entire XI after the Hoops claimed Premiership glory in May and Giovanni van Bronckhorst's Light Blues reached 2022's Europa League final.

Debate between the two clubs is never far away no matter what it is and some will raise eyebrows over the respective valuations in this XI. Joe Hart claims the goalkeeper spot, despite hitting 36 next year, with a worth of £1.53 million. The defence in front of him though only has one of his Hoops team-mates, Josip Juranovic, who's recently been linked with a transfer to La Liga giants Atletico Madrid.

Connor Goldson, Calvin Bassey and James Tavernier are the other defenders in this 4-2-3-1 system.

Joe Aribo and Callum McGregor sit in front of the defence with Parkhead star Liel Abada and Jota - who's expected to make his loan from Benfica permanent - on the flanks.

Alfredo Morelos leads the line and with a valuation of £15.75 million, Ryan Kent is behind him and comes in as the league's most prized asset.

Ange Postecoglou's side kick off their title defence in July against Aberdeen while Rangers start their challenge versus Livingston.
