Todd Cantwell has doubled down on his social media stance as he continued to hit back at haters after Rangers' 2-2 draw with PSV last night.
The English midfielder was a standout for Michael Beale's side in a battling Gers display that sets up a fierce return fixture in Eindhoven next week with a spot in the Champions League group stage on the line.
Earlier this week Cantwell hit back at social media hate after he posted a picture of himself smiling on training, shortly after Celtic had been beaten by Kilmarnock in the Viaplay Cup.
The midfielder, 25, has revealed he woke up to abuse over the post and stated he is "threatened" every day over social media.
After last night's match against PSV Cantwell was quizzed further and he was asked if there has been a different reaction to his posts now he plays his football in Scotland.
He responded: "No I wouldn't say so, I think social media can be amazing and it can be really dangerous. I think there's a lot of sensitivity around social media - just for clarity there's no sensitivity on my end - I was just making a point that if a player can't post a picture of him smiling after... well, whenever he wants, really, if he can't post a photo of himself smiling and that causes an upset, what's the point in players having accounts?
"That's my stance. I'll be completely honest, I think social media is quite a dangerous platform at times. There's not much responsibility about what people can put out and for some people that can be really effective.
"I enjoy my social media, you guys know that, I post and try to interact with the fans. I use it for positive reasons and I'll continue to do so."
On his story earlier this week, Cantwell posted: "Woke up this morning to see all the comments about a photo I posted.
"So just for clarity I can get abused every day in so many ways, and get threatened but I can't post a photo of me smiling?
"Seriously guys 😂 May as well all just delete our accounts then."
