Rangers 1 Aberdeen 0 as Todd Cantwell nets stunner, Ben Davies concern - 3 things we learned

Todd Cantwell scored a stunning volley as Rangers brought Aberdeen's unbeaten run to an end and got back to winning ways.

Michael Beale's men suffered a two goal defeat a couple of weeks ago at Pittodrie before losing out last weekend in the Scottish Cup semi-final against Celtic with hopes of silverware this campaign coming to an end in Mount Florida. Ange Postecoglou and his troops are on course for a domestic Treble with Inverness now standing in the way of that achievement after the Hoops secured the Premiership title with victory over Hearts at Tynecastle.

The Light Blues made five changes heading into this one as they dished out chances to a number of players to stake a claim ahead of the big summer overhaul at Ibrox. Robby McCrorie made an excellent save from Duk with the score level and will hope to taste more action between now and the end of the season. Here's three things we learned from Ibrox.

Stake a claim

Michael Beale made FIVE changes to his team for this one.

Robby McCrorie was handed a rare start between the sticks while Ridvan Yilmaz, Rabbi Matondo, Ianis Hagi and Fashion Sakala also got the nod.

A big summer of change is on the way at Ibrox with jerseys up for grabs in the rebuild.

All five have been on the fringes and will be keen to land further starts in the final four games after today's outing.

McCrorie made a huge save just before the half hour to deny Duk. Will be hoping to stay in the sticks to face Celtic.

Keep the head

Todd Cantwell picked up his fifth booking in five games.

Michael Beale spoke about the January recruit getting his overall numbers up - but not in that column.

A coming together with Liam Scales just after the half hour mark ended with both sides coming together.

The duo got handed a yellow each for their troubles.

You'd imagine Beale will have a word over the recent run of cautions.

Stunning goal to make it three for the club.

Injury concern

Ben Davies has been a constant for Michael Beale after getting over his early season niggles.

But he was forced off just before the break after looking like he over stretched as he chased back to close down Duk.

John Souttar - another with his own injury issues - was the man to replace him and had the chance to impress.

When it is two centre-backs you'd imagine it will be one of the duo alongside Connor Goldson.

A big chance for the former Hearts man to try and claim the jersey from his team-mate.
