A 40-year-old man died after a Range Rover left the road following a police pursuit in Cheshire.
The driver died at the scene after the Range Rover left the road and crashed into a field off the A51 Chester Road in Nantwich at around 11.30pm last night (Thursday). The incident has been referred to the Independent office for Police Conduct (IOPC) by Cheshire Police for further independent investigation.
IOPC investigators attended the scene and initiated post-incident procedures. They will be continuing their enquiries today, reports Cheshire Live.

The road remains closed as police are still on scene and traffic is slow in the area. Inrix traffic data has reported that the incident occurred between A534 Cuckoo Lane (Burford Crosswords), and Mill Pool Lane (Barbridge).
A spokesperson for Cheshire Police said: “Police are currently at the scene of a serious collision in Nantwich. The incident involved a police pursuit of a Range Rover, which had failed to stop for officers, and had left the road while travelling on the A51 towards Chester at around 11.30pm on Thursday, March 24.
“The driver – a man – died at the scene. Enquiries are ongoing and the road remains closed at this time.
“In line with normal procedure, the incident has been referred to the Independent office for Police Conduct.”
A spokesperson for the Independent Office for Police Conduct said: “We are independently investigating the circumstances of a fatal collision in Cheshire last night (24 March) following a police pursuit.
"We were made aware of the incident by Cheshire Police after a Range Rover, which had failed to stop for officers, left the road while travelling on the A51 towards Chester at around 11.30pm and ended up in a field.
"A 40-year-old man was seriously injured and was pronounced dead at the scene. IOPC investigators attended the scene and the police post-incident procedures and will be conducting further inquiries today.
"Our thoughts are with those affected by this tragic incident.”
