On Dec. 6, Moss announced that he would be stepping down from his duties as an analyst on ESPN’s Sunday NFL Countdown.
“I just ask for all the prayer warriors to put their blessing hands on me and my family through these hard times,” Moss said in a video on his Instagram. “I’m battling something, man, and it’s something internal, your boy is going to get through it. I got a great team of doctors and got a great family around me.”
ESPN released a statement showing their support for Moss during this difficult journey.
“For nearly a decade, Randy has been an invaluable member of the team, consistently elevating Countdown with his insight and passion,” ESPN said in a press release. “He has ESPN’s full support, and we look forward to welcoming him back when he is ready.”
Moss hopes to get “back on that television” with his team at ESPN when he’s ready.
Moss is one of the greatest wide receivers ever. In 14 seasons, Moss is second in NFL history with 156 touchdown receptions.
Moss was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2018.
