Randers chief admits Stephen Odey transfer 'could happen' amid Celtic & Rangers interest

Club chief admits Stephen Odey transfer 'could happen' amid Celtic & Rangers interest

RANDERS have confirmed that no offers have been made from a Scottish side for their striker Stephen Odey.

It comes amid reported interest in the player from both Celtic and Rangers.

Nigerian media suggest on Sunday that the Premiership duo had enquired about Odey's availability this summer.

The report claimed that Rangers transfer guru Ross Wilson has held early discussions with the Danish club about the 24-year-old.

Odey netted 13 goals in 32 games in Danish football last term.

He is contracted at Randers until 2024.

And Soren Pedersen, the club's sporting director, has confirmed that no bid has come from either Celtic or Rangers - but he refused to deny their interest.

He did reveal that one bid from an unnamed club has been rejected for Odey, though.

Responding to a question asking if there was interest from the Old Firm, Pedersen told bold: "It can happen easily.

"There are many clubs that have shown interest in him because he is a good player, but there is nothing concrete from there.

"We are happy for him and it is not something where we say that he should be sold in this window.

"He has a great sporting value, so if we were to say yes to something, it must be both the right club and the right amount."
