Randal Kolo Muani makes "dream" transfer admission as Man Utd eye move

Manchester United target Randal Kolo Muani has admitted his dream is to play for a big club, amid his impressive season for Eintracht Frankfurt.

The 24-year-old has scored 16 goals and notched 14 assists so far this season, attracting the interest of the Red Devils. United boss Erik ten Hag is set to be in the market for a new striker this summer following Cristiano Ronaldo 's departure in November.

The Dutchman's top target is Harry Kane, but alternatives to the England captain are being explored with Tottenham thought to have slapped a £100million price tag on him. Muani has emerged as a possible option amid his stunning campaign.

And the Frenchman now appears to have opened the door to a move to Old Trafford. Muani is currently on international duty ahead of France's first Euro 2024 qualifiers and he has opened up on his hopes for his future career.

“We talk about it a lot already, but I try to be focused on my club. We continue our performances and we will see this summer. Afterwards, I always dreamed of playing in big clubs,” he told L’Equipe when asked about the reports linking him with an exit.

“I thought I was going to need some time to adapt, maybe a year. But everything exploded. Either way, I’m ready for any challenge. I ask the club to get me my statistics on my matches each time.

"I share this with my physical trainer to know what to improve. I do a lot of goals and assists, but it’s not at the level where I should be. I still miss quite a bit. This is only my third (full) season as a pro."

It was reported last week that United are putting together a £105m package to present to Frankfurt in an attempt to sign Muani. According to SportBild, United are leading the race to sign him and are ready to make him their record signing.

Though he has another four years remaining on his contract at the Waldstadion, such an offer would be too hard to turn down for Frankfurt. Muani has also changed agencies in recent months.

Back in December, his then representatives MDC stated that his plan was to remain at Frankfurt beyond the summer. But he is now represented by Moussa Sissoko, not the former Tottenham star, who is thought to be keen to engineer a move.

Muani has earned high praise since bursting onto the scene with Frankfurt this season. He earned a call-up to the France squad for the 2022 World Cup, with German legend Lothar Matthaus also hailing him as a "future superstar".

"He is a major asset for the Bundesliga. He has remarkable technical ability, he's ice-cold in front of goal and he really throws himself into challenges," he told L'Equipe.

"The most impressive thing is that he's performing in every game. I can't remember a match where he's played badly. That's the mark of a future superstar."
