Rams will pick 19th overall in 2024 NFL draft

The Los Angeles Rams will make a selection in Round 1 of the NFL draft for the first time since 2016 – that is, unless Les Snead trades the pick away.

With the first 24 picks in the 2024 NFL draft locked in after the wild-card round of the playoffs, we know where the Rams will be picking. They hold the 19th overall selection in Round 1, right after the Cincinnati Bengals and just before the Pittsburgh Steelers.

The order is based on the team’s record and strength of schedule. Entering the playoffs, the Rams were tentatively slotted in at No. 22, but because the Packers, Buccaneers and Texans all won, Los Angeles moved up three spots to No. 19 – the earliest selection of all playoff teams.

The Rams have a lot of ways they can go in the draft this year, addressing just about any position on offense or defense in the first round. With Matthew Stafford coming back, it’s unlikely they’ll take a quarterback 19th overall, but he’s not getting any younger and they likely want to find his successor sooner rather than later.

There’s also the possibility that Snead will trade the pick away for a veteran, which he’s done several times before with Brandin Cooks, Jalen Ramsey and Stafford.

Below is the order of the first 24 picks in the draft.

  1. Chicago Bears (7-10) (from CAR)
  2. Washington Commanders (4-13)
  3. New England Patriots (4-13)
  4. Arizona Cardinals (4-13)
  5. Los Angeles Chargers (5-12)
  6. New York Giants (6-11)
  7. Tennessee Titans (6-11)
  8. Atlanta Falcons (7-10)
  9. Chicago Bears (7-10)
  10. New York Jets (7-10)
  11. Minnesota Vikings (7-10)
  12. Denver Broncos (8-9)
  13. Las Vegas Raiders (8-9)
  14. New Orleans Saints (9-8)
  15. Indianapolis Colts (9-8)
  16. Seattle Seahawks (9-8)
  17. Jacksonville Jaguars (9-8)
  18. Cincinnati Bengals (9-8)
  19. Los Angeles Rams (10-7)
  20. Pittsburgh Steelers (10-7)
  21. Miami Dolphins (11-6)
  22. Philadelphia Eagles (11-6)
  23. Houston Texans (10-7) (from CLE)
  24. Dallas Cowboys (12-5)

The first round of the 2024 NFL draft begins on April 25 in Detroit.
