Three years after the Los Angeles Rams traded Jared Goff to the Detroit Lions, they’ll face their former quarterback in the first round of the playoffs. The Rams and Lions will square off next weekend in the wild-card round, a highly intriguing matchup with no shortage of storylines.
Matthew Stafford will face his former team, with whom he spent the first 12 years of his career. Goff will face his former team and head coach after what seemed like a messy split back in 2021.
The Lions will host the game as the No. 3 seed, so it’ll be Stafford going to Detroit for his first playoff game since winning the Super Bowl. The Rams are the No. 6 seed after beating the 49ers, 21-20, on Sunday. Detroit beat the Vikings, 30-20, and with Dallas also winning, the Lions clinched the No. 3 seed.
