The Los Angeles Rams certainly weren’t happy with how their season began, with the Buffalo Bills defeating them handily by the score of 31-10 in the season opener. After falling to a legitimate Super Bowl contender in Week 1, the Rams are opening as 10.5-point favorites over the Falcons in Week 2, according to Tipico Sportsbook.
In Thursday night’s loss to the Bills, the Rams suffered injuries to Brian Allen and Joseph Noteboom on the offensive line. While Allen will miss at least two weeks, Noteboom is expected to be healthy enough to suit up on Sunday versus the Falcons.
Meanwhile, Atlanta also sustained a loss in Week 1 to the New Orleans Saints on a game-winning field goal by Will Lutz. The Falcons had a 26-10 lead in the fourth quarter before the Saints scored 17 unanswered points to conclude the contest.
The Rams failed to cover the spread in their loss to the Bills despite being the home underdogs as reigning Super Bowl champions. As for the Falcons, even with the loss, they were able to cover the +5.5 spread by keeping it closer than expected versus the Saints.
This is unquestionably a perfect bounce-back game for the Rams, even with concerns surrounding the offense and Matthew Stafford. Los Angeles can quiet the concerns (for at least a week) if they can cover the 10.5-point spread against Atlanta this Sunday.
