Rams’ Nick Caley is on Aaron Glenn’s radar as potential Jets offensive coordinator

The Los Angeles Rams have made it through the first wave of the hiring cycle flying mostly under the radar. For a team that’s had assistant coaches hired away from Sean McVay annually, it’s a welcome change.

They’re not out of the woods yet, of course. Members of McVay’s staff can (and probably) will draw interest from head coaches who are filling out their own groups, and Nick Caley is one name to watch.

According to Connor Hughes of SNY, Rams tight ends coach and pass game coordinator Nick Caley is one of two coaches that new Jets head coach Aaron Glenn has talked to about his offensive coordinator position. Scott Turner is another, but it’s obviously early in the process with Glenn not even officially hired yet.

Caley just completed his second season with the Rams, his first with the responsibility as pass game coordinator. He was the Patriots’ tight ends coach for six years before joining McVay in Los Angeles, as well.

He was a candidate to become Jerod Mayo’s offensive coordinator last year in New England, but wound up staying with the Rams for a second season.
