Rams’ Matthew Stafford Dazzles NFL Fans With Sick Sidearm Throw vs. Saints

Los Angeles Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford sliced and diced the New Orleans Saints defense in a 30—22 victory on Thursday Night Football at SoFi Stadium.

Stafford, who threw for 328 yards and two touchdown passes, helped Los Angeles take a lead into halftime, and the Rams would not relinquish it in the second half.

While Stafford’s overall fine play was a major point of discussion after the Rams’ win, one play from the veteran quarterback had NFL fans buzzing. On a third down in the second quarter, Stafford rolled out to his left as multiple defenders closed in, and he avoided the pressure by zipping a sidearm throw just past New Orleans safety Jordan Howden’s outstretched arm and into the hands of Rams wideout Demarcus Robinson.

From the ability to throw on the move, to the changing of arm angles to the accuracy and zip on the ball—there aren’t many QBs in the league who can make the throw Stafford made.

NFL fans were impressed and shared their thoughts on social media.

The completion to Robinson was just one of several impressive throws by Stafford, who is surging at the right time for the 8—7 Rams.

Los Angeles is in the driver’s seat for an NFC wild-card playoff berth with games against the New York Giants and San Francisco 49ers remaining.
