Higbee’s injury required the tight end to be hospitalized because he was “spitting up a little bit of blood.” Higbee was eventually cleared to travel home with the team.
McVay spoke to the media today and expects that Higbee will be ready to go against the Eagles.
Before Higbee exited Monday night’s win, he was arguably the Rams’ best receiver. Higbee led the Rams with five receptions for 58 yards in Los Angeles’ 27-9 win over the Vikings.
Higbee missed most of the 2024 season due to a torn ACL and MCL suffered in the Rams’ loss to the Detroit Lions in last season’s Wild Card Round.
Higbee returned in Week 16 this season and recorded 13 receptions for 124 yards and two touchdowns.

The defense was the story of the Rams’ dominant victory over the Vikings.
The Rams sacked Vikings quarterback Sam Darnold nine times, tying the NFL single-game playoff record. Six of the nine sacks came in the first half, the most in the first half of a postseason game in almost 40 years.
Linebacker Jared Verse did not have a sack, but the star rookie did have a 57-yard fumble return for a touchdown.
Quarterback Matthew Stafford completed 19 of 27 passes for 209 yards and two touchdowns. Running back Kyren Williams caught one of Stafford’s touchdowns while also chipping in 76 yards rushing.
The Rams move on to face the Eagles on Sunday, Jan. 19, at 3 p.m. ET. The Eagles beat the Rams in Week 12 by a score of 32-20.
