The Los Angeles Rams were able to overcome a ferocious comeback from the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Sunday to advance to the NFC Championship Game. The Rams will face a familiar foe in the San Francisco 49ers next Sunday to decide who will represent the NFC in the Super Bowl.
Despite Los Angeles’ woes versus San Francisco in recent years, the Rams have the second-best odds to win the Super Bowl, according to Tipico Sportsbook.
The Rams have been given +210 odds to win the Super Bowl, putting them behind only the Kansas City Chiefs, who have +125 odds to hoist the Lombardi Trophy. The 49ers enter this week with +450 odds and the Cincinnati Bengals are massive underdogs with +900 odds to win the Super Bowl.
Advancing to the Super Bowl is going to be easier said than done for the Rams. Los Angeles has lost six consecutive meetings with San Francisco, including a 27-24 loss in Week 18 where the Rams held a 17-3 lead at halftime.
At the very least, the Rams showed that they can overcome adversity — albeit, adversity they created themselves — on Sunday in their narrow win over the reigning champions. If Los Angeles goes on to win the Super Bowl next month, it would become just the second team in NFL history to emerge victorious in the Super Bowl in their home stadium.
The only other team to achieve this feat was the Buccaneers last season.
