The Arizona Cardinals did not make the postseason, so their fans get to watch the playoffs with no true rooting interest. However, there are some Cardinals-related reasons to watch because every team left in the postseason has soon-to-be free agents and some could end up offseason targets for Arizona.
The Minnesota Vikings and Los Angeles Rams play the final of three playoff games on Sunday.
Below are some players on the Rams’ roster scheduled to be free agents who could be potential targets for some of the Cardinals’ offseason needs.
Potentials Cardinals free agent targets on Rams
LB Christian Rozeboom
Rozeboom broke out this year with 135 tackles. He was strong against the run. The Cardinals could be looking to replace Kyzir White. With one year of production, perhaps he won’t be too expensive.
QB Jimmy Garoppolo
Garoppolo is a good insurance policy at quarterback as a backup or spot starter. He would certainly be an upgrade over Clayton Tune.
EDGE Michael Hoecht
He is a rotational edge defender who has had as many as six sacks in a season.
WR Tutu Atwell
He is speedy, something the Cardinals could use, but he doesn’t have much length at 5-foot-9. He had 42 receptions for 562 yards and also can be used in the return game.
NT Bobby Brown
Roy Lopez and Khyiris Tonga will be free agents. Brown is 6-foot-4 and 332 pounds and was the starter for the Rams the last two seasons.
