Nick Caley isn’t the only Rams coach heading from Los Angeles to Houston. He’s expected to be followed by senior offensive assistant Jerry Schuplinski.
According to Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston, the Texans are expected to hire Schuplinski to their coaching staff under DeMeco Ryans. His role has not yet been disclosed. Schuplinski was in his first season with the Rams in 2024 after two years with the Raiders as a senior offensive assistant and tight ends coach.
Schuplinski was on the Rams’ staff with Caley last season so he has some familiarity with the Texans’ new offensive coordinator. Wilson also notes Schuplinski was a college teammate of Nick Caserio, who’s the Texans’ general manager.

In addition to Caley and Schuplinski, the Rams have also lost AC Carter and John Streicher this offseason. Carter was hired as the Panthers’ outside linebackers coach and Streicher joined Mike Vrabel’s staff on the Patriots.
