After two weeks of talking to teams about a potential trade involving Davante Adams, the Las Vegas Raiders finally found a partner on Tuesday. The New York Jets agreed to trade a conditional third-round pick to the Raiders for Adams and the timing couldn’t have been better for the Rams.
Why? Because their next opponent is the Raiders. Therefore, they no longer have to worry about game planning for one of the best receivers in football.
There was always a chance Adams would miss the game with a hamstring injury that’s kept him out for the last three weeks, but the Rams still would’ve had to come up with a plan to slow down the two-time All-Pro. And with their questions in the secondary, that might not have been very easy to do.
Instead, Adams is already in New York and ready to get started with Aaron Rodgers and the Jets.
Yes, the Rams will still have to face Adams in Week 16 when they visit the Jets on Dec. 22, but they’d probably rather deal with him then instead of this weekend in a borderline must-win game at home.
