Ahead of Sunday’s game against the Philadelphia Eagles, the Los Angeles Rams announced a pair of defenders have returned to practice after spending extended periods of time on injured reserve.
Linebacker Troy Reeder and defensive lineman Larrell Murchison have both been designated to return from injured reserve, giving them a chance to play against the Eagles this weekend.
The Rams will still need to activate them before the game, and if they do, they’ll also need to make room on the 53-man roster by either cutting someone or putting them on injured reserve.

This is the second straight week the Rams have designated a player to return from IR after doing so with John Johnson III before the wild-card round; Johnson only played four snaps in the win over Minnesota.
Reeder has been on IR since Oct. 24 due to a hamstring injury, though he’s been healthy enough to return for several weeks. The Rams waited to activate him because prior to making the playoffs, they were only allowed to activate one more player from IR.
This is actually Murchison’s second time returning from IR. He was activated back in early October but he broke his foot in his first practice back and had to be placed back on the injured list, where he’s been waiting to return ever since.
It’s unclear if either of these defenders will contribute on Sunday but at the very least, they could get special teams snaps if activated.
