Rams DC Raheem Morris Helps Save Child in Drowning Incident

Rams defensive coordinator Raheem Morris helped to save a child who was drowning in a swimming pool in Las Vegas this weekend, according to ESPN.

While at the Encore Las Vegas with his family, Morris saw a young boy who was drowning in the hotel pool being escorted by his father to the lifeguard.

When the lifeguard started to perform CPR, Morris offered his assistance and was able to help with getting the lifeguard the AED (automatic external defibrillator), and putting pads on the child.

“I saw people calling 911 so my first question was, where is the AED?” said Morris, via ESPN. “When I got back, we had a doctor on site that was able to start the compressions. I was able to hand the AED to him, get it open for him, put the pads on the child, and he ended up being OK.”

Morris shouted out Rams vice president of sports medicine and performance Reggie Scott, indicating that it was the team’s recent CPR, AED, and first aid training that enabled him to know what to do and what the proper protocols were in the situation.

Morris’s wife, Nicole, posted about the situation on Instagram, in which she indicated the boy was discharged from the hospital 24 hours later.
