The Super Bowl isn’t for another week and a half, but the Los Angeles Rams and Cincinnati Bengals still issued their first injury report on Wednesday as they prepare for the big game. Neither team practiced, but they’re still required to list injuries for players who are hurt.
For the Rams, Joe Noteboom, Cam Akers, Christian Rozeboom, Tyler Higbee and Grant Haley were all estimated as non-participants to open the week. Akers injured his shoulder in the win over the 49ers and Higbee is dealing with an MCL sprain.
Akers returned to the game and should be fine for the Super Bowl, but Higbee’s status is far less certain. The Rams hope he can be ready to play against the Bengals.
Noteboom injured his pec in the divisional round and didn’t play in the NFC Championship Game. Fortunately, Andrew Whitworth was back and started at left tackle.
Taylor Rapp and Van Jefferson were both estimated as limited participants. Rapp is making progress in the concussion protocol, according to Sean McVay, and Jefferson tweaked his knee against the 49ers.
