At the start of the week, the Los Angeles Rams were considered 4.5-point favorites over the Arizona Cardinals, despite being on the road. Neither the Rams nor the Cardinals have looked particularly dominant through two weeks, each starting 1-1, but the Rams are viewed as the better team.
The spread has since shifted slightly with two days until kickoff, and not in the Rams’ favor. According to Tipico Sportsbook, the Rams are now 3.5-point favorites over the Cardinals. The over/under has also dropped from 50.5 points to 48.5 now.
This could be the result of a few different things. For starters, it’s likely because of the Rams’ rash of injuries and roster shuffling. They’ll be without Troy Hill after he was placed on injured reserve, and now both Cobie Durant and David Long Jr. are uncertain to play after missing practice Thursday.
It’s also possible that Tipico is getting so many bets on the Cardinals +4.5 that the oddsmakers decided to move the line to favor the Cardinals more. Either way, the Rams are giving up fewer points now than they were at the start of the week – which is good to know if you’re planning to bet on the game.
