Ty Nsekhe isn’t the only player the Los Angeles Rams are reuniting with. The team is also bringing back a familiar cornerback.
According to Jordan Schultz, the Rams are signing veteran corner Ahkello Witherspoon. Jake Ellenbogen of Downtown Rams was first to report the move. He played all 17 games with the Rams last season, leading the team with three interceptions and 14 pass breakups.
The Rams are getting thin at cornerback after losing Darious Williams to a hamstring injury that landed him on IR for at least four games. Cobie Durant also injured his toe in Week 1 and is considered day-to-day.
If Durant is unable to play on Sunday against the Cardinals, it’s possible Witherspoon will step in opposite Tre’Davious White as a starting cornerback for Week 2.
