Rams are now the 3rd-most valuable sports team in the world

Things have really taken a turn for the better for the Rams since moving to Los Angeles in 2016. Not only has the team reached two Super Bowls and won one, but the franchise as a whole has increased its overall value significantly.

According to Forbes, the Rams are now the third-most valuable sports team anywhere in the world. Their current valuation is $7.6 billion, behind only the Dallas Cowboys ($10.1 billion) and Golden State Warriors ($8.8 billion). They even overtook the New York Yankees, who are worth $7.55 billion after a 6% one-year increase compared to the Rams’ 10% growth.

This time last year, the Rams were the fifth-most valuable, so they moved up two spots with the Yankees and New England Patriots each sliding a bit.

How impressive has the Rams’ growth been? In 2017, they moved up from outside the top 50 to No. 12 on Forbes’ list, a substantial jump. Since then, they’ve steadily been increasing in valuation, in large part because of their on-field success and the opening of SoFi Stadium in 2020.

Stan Kroenke didn’t make any friends in St. Louis after pulling the Rams out of the city, but he sure has seen his franchise grow in value since that massive move.
