One way or another, the Los Angeles Rams will need to add pass-rush help this offseason. Whether it’s in free agency or the draft, they can’t go into next season with their current group of edge rushers.
With a first-round pick, they have a chance to secure a talented pass rusher who can not only contribute right away as a rookie, but for the length of his rookie contract. One option is Dallas Turner, the exciting Alabama product with a high ceiling.
In Doug Farrar’s latest mock draft for Touchdown Wire, he has the Rams selecting Turner at No. 19 overall. Last season, Turner had 10 sacks and 14.5 tackles for a loss at Alabama, setting a career-high with 53 total tackles. It was a terrific bounce-back season after he had just four sacks in 2022, which caused his draft stock to slip a little bit.
Turner is likely to be a first-round pick in April, assuming he tests well at the combine, and should be an early contributor in the NFL the way Byron Young was for the Rams last season. Pairing Young and Turner together on the edge would set the Rams defense on the right path.
