Manchester United legend Bryan Robson believes Anthony Elanga's emergence as a starter for Ralf Rangnick has had a positive impact on Marcus Rashford.
The eye-catching Swedish youngster has impressed interim manager Ralf Rangnick since his arrival in November and took the opening goal against Brentford well to break his duck for the season.
Rashford has struggled for form this season and endured a spell away from the starting line-up as his performances on the pitch faltered but he has enjoyed an upturn in his displays firing two goals in as many games prior to the international break.
And the 65-year-old has praised the 21-year-old's impact since he was rewarded with an opportunity.
"I think Elanga has done really well in the three games he’s played," he told United Daily via Metro.
"He’s shown loads of energy, he’s brave and quick, he’s got a lot about him.
"I think because he’s been in the team a couple of times it just looks like it’s sharpened Marcus [Rashford] up and Marcus knows he’s got to work hard, he’s got to start scoring goals again, which he’s proved in the last few games.
"So hopefully that’ll spur Marcus into coming back into form."
The Reds return to action against Middlesbrough in the FA Cup fourth round on February 4.
