Manchester United interim manager Ralf Rangnick joked with fans when questioned about summer transfer 'targets' Jules Kounde, Declan Rice and Erling Haaland.
The United temporary boss was in good spirits despite watching his side failing to overcome relegation-threatened Watford in a dominant display at Old Trafford.
United now hold a two-point lead over Arsenal, West Ham and Tottenham (at the time of writing) with the three London-based top four hopefuls breathing down their necks.
After the Watford game, a video emerged on social of Rangnick being quizzed by fans after the stalemate as he signed an autograph on a fan's jersey. Someone behind the camera can be heard saying: "There's three big names to come in the summer [Jules] Kounde, [Declan] Rice and [Erling] Haaland."
Rangnick replies "Who? What are you dreaming about at night?"
For United, the summer looks set to be another busy period as they look to add a number of players to their ranks as well as welcome a permanent successor to Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
The West Ham midfielder Rice is a player that the club are interested in and the club have accepted that their midfield department is the 'biggest problem' and are long-term admirers of the Hammers skipper.
Haaland is a player widely sought-after around Europe with the likes of PSG, Barcelona, Real Madrid and Manchester City all interested. United tried to sign him before he went to Borussia Dortmund forward in December 2019.
It remains to be seen whether they will pursue further interest in the Norwegian, but the Manchester Evening News understands that there is an intent for a young forward is being compiled ahead of a summer move.
Sevilla defender Jules Kounde has been linked but is not understood to be a top target as things stand.
