Ralf Rangnick refused to speak about Erik ten Hag - despite the Dutchman's imminent appointment as Manchester United boss.
Ajax boss Ten Hag is set to be confirmed as United's fifth permanent boss since Sir Alex Ferguson retired in 2013. Interim United boss Rangnick was asked for his view on ten Hag's appointment but refused to open up about the 52-year-old.
"I don't know if it's a done deal and my reply is the same - my focus is on the game against Norwich and to prepare the team on a higher level for the game," said Rangnick. "It doesn't make sense [to talk about ten Hag]. We all know he's a good manager, done a good job at Ajax and former clubs, but it doesn't make sense if I tell you what I think of another coach."
Rangnick said he sympathises with Manchester United fans who protested at the club's training ground. Police were called after around two dozen protesters descended on United's Carrington training complex to protest at the ownership of the club by the Glazer family.
Protesters started to gather at the road leading to United's training ground just before midday and made their way to the front gates of the complex 45 minutes later. Police arrived on the scene to disperse the protestsers, with United interim boss Rangnick saying he understood their concerns and why they felt the need to vent their frustration.
Rangnick said: “We all know that football is a game of passion and emotion and we can understand there are supporters disappointed, both about where we stand in the table and the performance we showed against Everton, after we conceded that first goal. But I still believe our supporters are one of the best - if not the best - in England - and as long as they do that protest in a peaceful way and they support the team in the stadium, they have the right to express that opinion. Emotionally, I can understand why they are disappointed.|"
