Cristiano Ronaldo is available to play for Manchester United against Arsenal on Saturday but Paul Pogba is out for four weeks and has possibly played for the club for the last time.

Ronaldo missed the 4-0 defeat at Liverpool on Tuesday night as he was on compassionate leave after the death of his baby boy, one of twins. Ronaldo's partner, Georgina Rodriguez, delivered a baby girl safely.

The 37-year-old completed a full training session at United's Carrington training complex on Wednesday and Ronaldo trained again on Thursday.

Rooney's Ten Hag verdict

Wayne Rooney has called on United fans to be patient while Erik ten Hag undertakes a “massive job” to mould the club back into a title-challenging side.

The Derby County boss also said it may take three years before United supporters see their team start to fight for the Premier League crown once again. Ten Hag was officially announced as the club’s next permanent manager ahead of the summer on Thursday.

The 52-year-old has signed a three-year deal with an option for a further 12 months. The task before Ten Hag is significant - something that Rooney is very much aware of.
