Ralf Rangnick believes Edinson Cavani and Marcus Rashford can both help ease the pressure on Cristiano Ronaldo following his recent struggles in front of goal. Ronaldo has scored just once in his last eight Premier League appearances and spurned a number of chances in the goalless draw with Watford a week ago.
Despite his recent struggles in front of goal, the Portuguese forward has still managed to notch 15 goals in 31 appearances across all competitions this season, including a number of important strikes in the Champions League.
Ronaldo's struggles are in part down to an overreliance on him following Mason Greenwood's continued absence from training and selection, coupled with Edinson Cavani's recent injury problems, which have amplified the expectancy of their veteran striker.

Rangnick was keen to ease the pressure on Ronaldo and he believes Cavani and Rashford could help solve their recent problems in front of goal: "A few things that have happened in last few weeks couldn't have been foreseen by anybody.
"With Edinson available for the game, and the upcoming games, we have other options. With Marcus Rashford we have another player who I will insist and continuously be behind him, to develop him. We have achieved that with quite a few young players in the past, and I don't see why this can't happen with Marcus.
"He has got abundant talent, he has got pace, physicality, everything you need as a modern striker, no matter if he is playing from the wing or the centre. I will put all my energy into making sure he takes the same pathway as other players in recent months."
