Ralf Rangnick has challenged Manchester United’s players to prove their doubters wrong during their final run of games this season.
United have it all to do if they are to qualify for next season’s Champions League. With just seven games to go, their hopes of a top-four finish already look to be over after picking up just a point from games against Leicester and Everton.
They remain in the hunt for now, with six points separating them from Tottenham in fourth. A crucial week awaits though, with trips to Liverpool and Arsenal coming up over the next seven days.

Before those encounters, they face a must-win game against Norwich at Old Trafford. Having suffered a dismal defeat at Goodison Park last weekend, United will need to save face against the league’s bottom side.
That defeat to Everton led to even more criticism being levelled at the Reds, with fans and pundits alike questioning their character and attitude after another lacklustre display. With their top-four hopes still just about intact, Rangnick is hoping his players can answer those questions during their final run-in.
Asked about the importance of rewarding supporters in their final three home games of the season, Rangnick told the club’s website: “[It's] not only at home, we have to show that in the remaining seven games.
“That’s why I called it a test of character; we have to show the supporters and the media and the public that the speculation about a lack of mentality and character is not true. Even if I speak about that in the press conferences every week and I tell the journalists that I don’t think this is the case, it doesn’t help the truth because the reality is on the pitch. We have to show it on the pitch.”
