Police Chief Estella Patterson revealed that eight vehicles were struck, with two incidents occurring on Monday, four on Wednesday, and two on Thursday. Additionally, four other shootings targeted residences on Wednesday.
Two individuals have been detained in connection with the shootings, with one considered a person of interest and the other associated with the location where the person of interest was found. Patterson emphasized that the investigation is ongoing, with law enforcement following up on leads.
One person sustained injuries during the shootings, with a woman being shot in the leg while traveling on I-40 early Monday morning. Police have ruled out road rage as a motive for the shootings and suspect that a handgun was used in the incidents.
