JAIPUR: A seven-year-old girl was allegedly raped by two minor boys at a village under Merta city police station area of Nagaur.
The girl kept mum, but when she experienced abdominal pain and was taken to a hospital on Wednesday, she told about the rape. Later, the family of the girl lodged a rape case.
According to police, the girl was complaining of abdominal pain and her parents took her to the hospital.
"There was also some pain in her private parts, thus doctors and parents asked her what had happened. The girl narrated her plight to the parents. The parents decided to lodge an FIR and approached us," said Ram Murty Joshi, superintendent of police, Nagaur.
"Since among the two, one is a juvenile having age of 12 years, and another is of seven years, they can't be named. Juvenile Justice Board will prosecute only the one whose age is 12 years as another boy having age seven years can't be prosecuted," explained a senior officer of the Merta road police station.
Based on the complaint, a case under appropriate sections of the POCSO Act has been lodged against two accused, said a police official. After the girl was given medical treatment, her condition improved.
"We had taken a woman officer who was friendly with her to record her statement," said the official. tnn
