Rajasthan Congress seeks NIA probe into BJP's alleged links with Udaipur killers

JAIPUR: Rajasthan Congress chief Govind Singh Dotasra on Tuesday wrote a letter to NIA DG demanding a thorough probe into the BJP's alleged connections with terrorists and the perpetrators of the gruesome murder of Kanhaiya Lal in Udaipur. Referring to various media reports, he alleged that one of the accused was found to be an active worker of the BJP.

Similarly, a terrorist arrested in Jammu was the chief of the BJP's IT cell, he said. So, BJP's terrorist connections should also be investigated by the NIA.

"As per media reports, Mohammad Riyaz (one of the prime accused in Udaipur killing) has been a member of BJP who has been attending various events of the party. He has attended many events and BJP workers were seen welcoming these leaders. Photos of the perpetrators of this incident with BJP leaders are going viral. Media reports say that he was an active worker of the BJP," the letter said.

According to media, a terrorist caught in Jammu was the chief of the BJP's local IT cell. What is their collusion with terrorists, he questioned, and urged the agency to probe the matter.

Dotasra also commented on BJP leaders going to Udaipur after returning from their Hyderabad meeting.

"BJP has no concern for the public. There is a blind race going on among them to become the chief ministerial candidate. So, they have neither any feelings left in them nor do they have any vision for the state. This is the reason why BJP leaders are going to Kanhaiya Lal's house seven days after the incident after enjoying their Hyderabad tour. The CM cancelled his Jodhpur tour and reached Udaipur; DG, CS, ACS home and I myself went to Udaipur with the CM, but no BJP leader came," he said.

'Dotasra resorting to cheap letter politics'

Responding to PCC chief Govind Dotasra's letter to the NIA to probe BJP connections with those involved in the Udaipur incident, BJP state president Satish Poonia said it is an attempt by the Congress to cover their failures. "It is an open truth that the Congress and CM Ashok Gehlot are the culprits of the deteriorating law and order situation," said Poonia.

Deputy leader of Opposition Rajendra Rathore said on the basis of the fake photo, Dotasra has resorted to cheap letter politics.

"Before accusing anyone, I must ask him that he probe the viral photo of Asif Hasari, the main accused in Chabbra communal violence, at the iftaar in chief minister's residence."

He added it was just an attempt by the Congress government to divert attention from the deteriorating law and order situation in Rajasthan.

"They know that they had failed in protecting Kanhaiya Lal and are trying to cover up their failure, which is very unfortunate. The serious negligence of police in Udaipur case is in front of everyone," he said.
