Ian Murray has maintained his unwavering commitment to Raith Rovers' pursuit of securing Scottish Premiership promotion, dismissing any speculation linking him to the managerial vacancy at Hibernian.
Murray had Raith battling with eventual champions, Dundee United, for large spells this season. And his name has been firmly in the conversation to replace Nick Montgomery in the Easter Road hot seat.
Hibs parted ways with Montgomery on Tuesday, terminating his tenure after a mere eight months.
This decision followed a failure to secure a top-six finish, coupled with disappointing results against Ross County and Aberdeen post-split.
In light of these developments, Malky Mackay has been appointed as sporting director and will take charge of the search for a new manager.
Discussing the rumours surrounding his Raith future, Murray insisted he only has one focus, with his side commanding a 2-1 lead over Partick Thistle in the play-off semi-finals.
"It's always unfortunate when someone loses their job," he told BBC Sportsound. "I know Nick, I played with him and roomed with him for Scotland Under-21s so my first thought is it's very unfortunate for him and his staff.
"On my side of it, I'm fully focused on trying to get Raith Rovers into the Premiership."
