The waiting for the NFL season to finally kick off created angst for many sports fans. It is a long time between February and Sept. 5.
Mother Nature was going to make folks wait a little longer.
A huge thunderstorm hit around and over Arrowhead Stadium and the 8:20 p.m. ET kickoff was pushed to 8:40 p.m. so it would pass and allow players to return and warm up.
Absolute dumpage at Arrowhead. This is one way to begin the quest for a #Chiefs three-peat. pic.twitter.com/Nl7ymzqYw9

Kickoff is set for 7:20 p.m. but I’m hearing there will be a delay due to warmups being held up. The Chiefs kick returners had just come on the field. Delay of 20-30 minutes possible but no official timeline yet. pic.twitter.com/eUDFW3cw47
