Rain in Pittsburgh forecast for Jaguars vs. Steelers in Week 8

The Jacksonville Jaguars are likely to play in the rain for the first time in the 2023 season.

According to the National Weather Service, there’s about a 90 percent chance of rain in Pittsburgh on Sunday when the Jaguars will face the Steelers in a road game at Acrisure Stadium.

So far in 2023, the Jaguars have played two games indoors (Lucas Oil Stadium and Caesars Superdome) and otherwise in sunny and often hot conditions.

Against a Steelers team that struggles to run or defend the run, and relies heavily on the talented pass rushing duo of T.J. Watt and Alex Highsmith, a wet day in Pittsburgh could actually prove advantageous for the Jaguars. But only if the team does better with ball security than it did during a rainy day in Philadelphia a year ago.

In a 29-21 loss to the Eagles, the Jaguars turned the ball over five times with quarterback Trevor Lawrence fumbling away four possessions on his own.

Lawrence has fumbled six times through seven games in the 2023 season. Steelers quarterback Kenny Pickett has yet to fumble in six starts this year.
