Rain Expected During Friday's Olympics Opening Ceremony In Paris

Tokyo 2020 Olympics - The Tokyo 2020 Olympics Opening Ceremony

Rain is expected to make an appearance during Friday's Olympics opening ceremony in Paris, according to officials. Despite the anticipated inclement weather, the ceremony is scheduled to proceed as planned.

The head of MeteoFrance Sport, Alexis Decalonne, expressed concerns about the unfavorable conditions for the opening ceremony. The Paris region has already seen light rain earlier in the day, with meteorologists predicting further rainfall following a brief respite in the afternoon. The likelihood of rain is higher towards the end of the day when the opening ceremony is slated to occur.

Weather forecasts indicate a potential rainfall of around 15 mm, which is slightly over half an inch, during the ceremony. Additionally, the wind is expected to be mild, and temperatures are projected to be around 20°C (68°F) in the evening.

MeteoFrance has stated that the rains will persist into the late afternoon, with continuous and at times heavy rainfall expected until the middle of the night. The inclement weather is forecasted to continue into Saturday, with drier and warmer conditions anticipated for the following week.
