Railway worker punched in head on Elizabeth Line platform in east London

Police are appealing for more information after a railway worker was punched in the back of the head at an east London Underground station.

British Transport Police on Monday issued a CCTV image of a man they want to identify, following the assault on an Elizabeth Line platform at Whitechapel tube station.

The member of staff was walking along the platform around 6.35pm on November 8, when he was punched in the back of the head.

"The victim was taken to hospital as a precaution but did not require treatment," said a BTP spokesperson.

"Detectives would like to speak to the man in the image as they believe he may have information that could help their investigation."
