Rail strikes: RMT changes date of industrial action to avoid Royal British Legion poppy day clash

The RMT has moved the date of a planned walk-out so it does not clash with the Royal British Legion’s Poppy Day collection.

The rail union originally planned strike action for November 3 but has now moved that to November 9.

The Legion, which raises millions for armed forces veterans, thanked them in an online statement, adding: “We are very grateful and appreciate the significance of this gesture.”
