Railway routes through Lanarkshire remain suspended this morning while Network Rail engineers continue to check the lines for damage following yesterday's Storm Dudley.
Rail staff are working round the clock to clear any debris from the tracks in a bid to resume services as soon as possible today (Thursday).
Those affected include:
- Dalmuir – Larkhall
- Dalmuir – Motherwell
- Dalmuir – Cumbernauld via Motherwell
- Dalmuir - Whifflet
- Glasgow Central – Whifflet
- Glasgow Central – East Kilbride
- Glasgow Central – Lanark
Scotrail say they are expecting some disruption until at least mid-morning.
Customers should continue to check their journey on the ScotRail website or website. Live updates are also available on ScotRail’s Twitter account @ScotRail.
David Simpson, ScotRail Service Delivery Director, told us: "We’re sorry to customers who have been affected by the impact of Storm Dudley.
"Network Rail engineers are working tirelessly to inspect routes, remove fallen trees, clear debris, and repair damage to the railway infrastructure.
"We ask customers who are planning to travel to keep an eye on our website, mobile app, or social media feeds for live updates."
