Hunter Renfrow wears No. 13. He does so because he was given that number at Clemson for being the team’s best receiver. It’s a legacy number for the school and Renfrow earned it before the 2018 season after a dominant offseason.
But the No. 13 also represents how many snaps Renfrow played in the team’s opening game against Denver. He was relegated to the third receiver spot on the team and did not receive a single target. However, that is all likely to change in Week 2.
Buy Raiders TicketsIn a recent article by ESPN, they predicted that Renfrow would have a strong performance in Week 2 with the two other receivers ahead of him banged up. Here is a snippet of what the site had to say about Renfrow going into this matchup against the Bills.
Hunter Renfrow, who was shut out on the stat sheet for the first time in his career last week, will have at least five catches in Buffalo. The 2021 Pro Bowl slot receiver was a forgotten man in Denver, as he was not targeted once.
But with All-Pro Davante Adams dealing with a foot injury and No. 2 receiver Jakobi Meyers suffering a concussion vs. the Broncos, Renfrow will be a valuable asset for the Raiders. In his only other action against Buffalo, Renfrow had five catches for 57 yards in 2020.
Josh McDaniels said that Jakobi Meyers is doubtful to play in Week 2, opening up snaps for Renfrow. Against a team that is weak at cornerback, this could be a big day for Renfrow out of the slot. Expect the former Pro Bowl receiver to have a big role in the offense on Sunday.
