It’s been a pretty slow start for Michael Mayer to start his NFL career. In the first four games of the year, Mayer had a total of one catch for two yards. But over the last two weeks, he has started to heat up.
Against the Packers, Mayer caught two passes for 39 yards. But on Sunday, Mayer had a career day, catching five passes for 75 yards. He made several impressive grabs and was not easy to bring down. Here was one of his best plays of the season, courtesy of the Raiders:

Mayer has taken over as the No. 1 tight end for the Raiders and it’s not a coincidence that the offense has started to produce more points. Expect Mayer to continue to get more involved in the offense as the season progresses.
