Raiders still not shopping Pro Bowl WR Hunter Renfrow

Through three games, Hunter Renfrow has three catches for 40 yards. Back in 2021, Renfrow averaged over 61 yards per game on 6 catches. But it’s been a while since we’ve seen that version of Renfrow and it’s fair to wonder if we will ever see it again.

Under Josh McDaniels, Renfrow has been a non-factor in the offense. In 13 games, he has just 370 yards and two touchdowns as his role has diminished. With the Raiders not using Renfrow, is there any chance they consider moving their slot receiver?

In a recent article by Tashan Reed of The Athletic, he reported that the Raiders still haven’t shopped Renfrow despite his limited usage through three games. Here is a snippet of what Reed had to say about the Pro Bowl receiver from Clemson:

The Raiders haven’t been shopping Renfrow to other teams, according to league sources, but it would only make sense for them to explore their options if things continue to trend in this direction. Renfrow will make over $11.5 million this year and is set to make over $11.8 million next year, according to Spotrac; that’s entirely too much money for a receiver who’s averaging one target per game.

The Raiders may not be shopping Renfrow yet, but it only makes sense to trade him if he’s not being used. Don’t be shocked if the Raiders do trade him once we get a little closer to the trade deadline.
