Raiders sign former Packers DL Tyler Lancaster

With the team placing undrafted rookie RB Sincere McCormick on injured reserve, they had a roster spot to fill. Today they filled it by adding some depth and competition on the interior defensive line.

Wednesday the Raiders announced the addition of former Packers defensive lineman Tyler Lancaster.

The 6-3, 313-pounder has played his entire four-year career in Green Bay, appearing in 59 games with 21 starts.

While he started just three games last season, he appeared in 16 games and put up a career-high 31 combined tackles, three for a loss. He’s also started four playoff games in five appearances.

Those numbers are not far off of his average numbers in a given season.

He joins a defensive interior in Las Vegas that saw several free-agent additions as well as two draft selections, now boasting nine interior defensive linemen competing for what figures to be at most four roster spots. So, lots of competition this offseason and come training camp.
