Raiders score franchise record 63 points, blowout Chargers

No one was expecting a lot of points heading into Thursday Night Football. The total for this game was set at 34 points. But the Raiders scored that in the first half and more. It was one of the best nights in franchise history with the Raiders scoring 63 points. The final score ended up being 63-21, but the game was never that close.

The Raiders scored three touchdowns on defense, including two fumble returns. On offense, they threw five touchdowns, one of which was by Jakobi Meyers. The Raiders completely dominated as they held a 56-0 lead in the third quarter.

Coming into Thursday, the most points the Raiders had ever scored in a game was 59. That was set in 2010 against the Denver Broncos. The Raiders were able to score 63 points on Thursday despite taking their foot off the pedal for the final 15 minutes.

The Raiders will travel to Kansas City on Christmas Day at 1:00 PM ET. With a record of 6-8, the Raiders aren’t quite out of playoff contention in the AFC. But they need to win out to have a chance. And if they continue to play this way, you can’t count them out.

The Raiders are now 3-3 during the Antonio Pierce era and have a positive point differential during that stretch. Things have been much better in Las Vegas since he’s taken over.
